Terms
Last updated 1 October 2026
By using Gaffr you agree to these terms. They're short because the service is new, free, and still changing. Questions go to hello@gaffr.ie.
A planning guide, not professional advice
Gaffr gives general guidance on planning a renovation in Ireland: the order of work, rules, grants and rough costs. It isn't legal, engineering, tax or financial advice, and it doesn't replace a professional who has seen your home. Rules and grants change, so check the linked official source before you rely on one. Cost figures are rough ranges, not quotes.
Doing work yourself
You decide what to do yourself, and you're responsible for doing it safely and legally. Some work must be done or certified by a registered professional, such as most electrical work (a Safe Electric registered contractor) and all gas work (an RGII installer). Gaffr marks these, but it's your job to make sure the right people do the work. Doing grant-funded work yourself can cost you the grant.
Your account
Keep your sign-in email secure. You own what you put into Gaffr, and you let us store and process it to run the service, as the privacy page describes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
The service
Gaffr is free while it's in early access. We may change or stop features, and we'll give notice before anything you rely on goes away. Don't misuse it, for example by trying to get at other people's plans.
Liability
We provide Gaffr as it is and do our best to keep it accurate. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from relying on its guidance, estimates or rules. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under Irish law.
Law
These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts deal with any dispute.
