Gaffr helps you plan a home renovation. To do that it keeps some details about you and your home. This page says what, why, who else handles it, and how to get it deleted. Questions go to hello@gaffr.ie.
Who we are
Gaffr (gaffr.ie) is based in Ireland and is the data controller for the information below. For anything about your data, contact hello@gaffr.ie.
What we keep
- Your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile picture.
- What you tell us about your home: type, age, size, county, BER, goals, budget and how much you want to do yourself.
- Your plans, tasks, notes, costs, quotes and grants.
- Sign-in records: when you signed in, and the IP address and browser that did it, so we can keep your account secure.
- Simple usage records, such as when you open or change a plan, so we can count how many people use it.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in.
Why we keep it
- To run the service you signed up for: your account and your plan (performing our agreement with you).
- To keep it secure and to understand which features get used so we can improve them (our legitimate interests).
Who else handles it
These companies process data for us under data processing terms. Some are based outside the EU.
- Vercel, which hosts the website and runs it in Dublin.
- Neon, which hosts the database, in London (the UK has an EU adequacy decision).
- Resend, which sends sign-in emails from its EU region.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Where a company is in the US, transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and plans until you ask us to delete them. Sign-in records expire with the session. Usage records are kept for up to two years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete your account and everything in it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@gaffr.ie and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
